Wellvault — Privacy Policy

iOS · iPadOS · macOS · watchOS · tvOS

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Wellvault keeps your family's health records — prescriptions, reports, prescriptions, vaccination cards, insurance papers — in one place across your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV.

Health records are the most sensitive information most people own. This policy explains exactly where they go, which is: nowhere we can reach.

We never receive your records

Wellvault has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third-party SDKs, and there is no Technesium server anywhere in the app. Nothing about you, your family or your health is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent.

Your records are end-to-end encrypted

Records are encrypted on your device before they sync, using keys that never leave your devices. They travel through your own private iCloud in that encrypted form.

This means Apple cannot read them either. Your records are readable only on a device signed in to your Apple Account.

Apple Health

Health data from Apple Health is shown as a live read-through view. Wellvault reads it when you look at it and does not copy it into its own storage or into iCloud — Apple's rules forbid storing HealthKit data in iCloud, and Wellvault follows that rule by never storing it at all.

If you explicitly tap to write something back to Apple Health, that single value goes to Apple Health on your device. Nothing else moves.

Household sharing

You can invite a family member to a shared household. Sharing uses Apple's own CloudKit sharing, and only with people you invite by name. Records stay encrypted; Technesium is not a party to the share and cannot see who you shared with or what you shared.

You can remove a participant at any time.

Calendar

If you allow calendar access, Wellvault creates and writes to its own "Health" calendar for appointments and reminders. iOS has no way to request access to a single calendar, so the permission prompt asks for full access — but the app only ever writes to the calendar it created, and never reads your other calendars for any purpose.

Camera and photos

Used to photograph prescriptions and reports, and to attach existing images to a record. Those images are stored encrypted like any other record.

Face ID

You can require Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to open Wellvault, and to delete records. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS; the app receives only a yes or no and never sees biometric information.

Deleting your data

Deleting a record removes it from your device and from your iCloud container. Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device.

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Children

Wellvault can store records for children in your household, entered by you as their parent or guardian. That information is treated exactly like every other record: encrypted on your device, never sent to us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
