Thinking Fingers (Osteo Coach) — Privacy Policy

iOS · watchOS — shown as Osteo Coach

Last updated: 4 September 2026

Thinking Fingers, shown as Osteo Coach on the home screen, gives osteopathy patients the exercise programme their osteopath prescribed, with instructions, timers and a simple log, and lets osteopaths hand that programme to a patient as a QR code.

This policy is short because the app does very little with your information.

We do not collect any data

The app has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. There is no Technesium server involved at any point. The app makes no network connections of its own; the only outside link it opens is the clinic's public website, if you tap it.

Nothing about you, your treatment or your progress is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. We cannot see whether you use the app at all.

What the app stores, and where

Everything below lives in the app's private storage on your device and never leaves it unless you choose to share it or turn on sync (see below):

Optional sync across your devices

If you turn on Sync across my devices (off by default, and only available after signing in with Apple), the app keeps a copy of your exercise log, plan and osteopath details in Apple's iCloud so that your other devices can show the same data. Before it leaves your device it is encrypted with a key that exists only on your devices; iCloud holds ciphertext under an anonymous identifier, and neither Apple, the clinic nor we can read it. You can choose to protect that key with a six-digit PIN, in which case a shared device such as an Apple TV shows nothing until the PIN is entered.

Other devices join by scanning a QR code with your phone. Turning sync off on a device removes the key from that device. Deleting your account removes it from that device too; the encrypted copy in iCloud becomes unreadable once no device holds the key.

Plans shared by QR code or link

When an osteopath creates a plan, the app builds a QR code and a link. That code contains the osteopath's name, clinic and contact details together with the list of exercises. It travels only when the osteopath shows the code or sends the link, and it is stored on the patient's device once accepted. Nothing passes through us.

Reports you send to your osteopath

The Report screen builds a summary of your exercise log. When you tap Email, WhatsApp or Share, the app hands that text to the app you chose on your phone, addressed to your osteopath. Sending is entirely your action, and the message is then governed by that app's own privacy terms. We never receive a copy.

The camera and the Eye Coach

One exercise offers a camera-guided coach. When you start it, the app uses the front camera and Apple's on-device face tracking to follow your eye direction and head position while you exercise. The video is processed live and only on your device. It is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. The camera stops the moment you leave the coach. You can use the exercise without the coach.

Sign in with Apple, and guest use

Signing in is optional; Continue without signing in gives you the full app. If you do sign in, Apple gives the app an anonymous identifier and, only if you choose to share it, your first name. Both are stored on your device only. We do not request your email address, and nothing is sent to us when you sign in.

Deleting your account and data

Under Account, Delete my account erases everything the app stored on that device and signs you out. Erase all my exercise data removes the log while keeping you signed in. Deleting the app also removes everything it stored. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing to request from us and nothing for us to delete.

This is not a medical record

The app is an exercise guide, not a clinical record system. It does not hold your case notes or your diagnosis. Anything your osteopath needs to know should be told to them directly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
