SiteDraft — Privacy Policy

iOS · iPadOS

Last updated: 4 September 2026

SiteDraft is an iOS and iPadOS app for surveying buildings. You scan a room with your device, and it produces a dimensioned floor plan you can export as a PDF or a DXF for CAD.

The sites you measure belong to your clients, so this policy matters. It is short, because the app does almost nothing with your information.

The app makes no network connections

SiteDraft contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. There is no Technesium server anywhere in the app, and the app never opens a network connection of its own — there is no networking code in it at all.

Nothing about you, your clients, your sites or your drawings is sent to us, because there is nowhere for it to be sent and no code to send it. We cannot see your sites, your measurements, your photographs, or whether you use the app at all.

What the app stores, and where

Everything SiteDraft creates is written to a folder on your device: your sites and their addresses, room names, scan data, the floor plans it draws, any photographs you take, and your settings.

Those files are encrypted at rest using iOS file protection, with keys derived from your device passcode. If your device is locked, they cannot be read.

iCloud sync

If you are signed in to iCloud, SiteDraft mirrors your sites into your own private iCloud container so they appear on your other devices.

That container belongs to your Apple Account, not to Technesium. We have no access to it and no ability to read what is in it. Apple's handling of the data in your iCloud account is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

If you would rather not sync, sign out of iCloud or turn SiteDraft off in your iCloud settings; the app continues to work entirely on the device.

Camera and LiDAR

SiteDraft uses the camera, and the LiDAR scanner on devices that have one, to measure rooms and to take site photographs. This happens live on the device. No video, image or depth data is uploaded anywhere.

Camera access is requested the first time you scan. You can withdraw it at any time in Settings, though scanning will not work without it.

Photo library

If you choose to save an exported drawing to your photo library, the app asks for permission to add that file. SiteDraft never reads your existing photographs and does not request permission to do so.

Face ID

You can optionally require Face ID to open SiteDraft, so a client's site data stays locked if someone else picks up your device. Authentication is handled entirely by iOS. The app receives only a yes or no, and no biometric information is ever available to it or to us.

Children

SiteDraft is a professional surveying tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Deleting your data

Deleting a site inside the app removes its files from your device and from your iCloud container. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on that device.

Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for you to request from us and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Since the app collects nothing, we do not expect substantive changes.
